great read

Tess Farraday has done her homework on this one. She really captures the flavor of the cowboy world. Her hero and heroine are believable characters faced with real and mystical situations. Good job Tess!

An otherworldly romance that is wonderful

Two weeks after obtaining her driver's license, sixteen-year-old Kasey Harrigan drives to the Scolding Rock Reservation seeking her biological mother. Though Kasey loves her adoptive parents, she needs to learn why she abandoned Kasey as an infant. In the desert, Kasey sees a mirage of a bluish Indian princess riding a horse followed by a flat tire. Three males arrive and stop. Bronc McDermitt rescues Kasey her from the sleazy advances of another by kissing her as if he knew her. Kasey returns to her Los Angeles home without further seeking her mother.Ten years later, reporter Kasey investigates the slaughter of over a hundred wild horses. The desert controversy centers on Bronc. When Kasey sees Bronc that decade-old kiss still lingers on her mind. However, both believe they have reasons not to trust the other. Still, his boss assigns Bronc to escort Kasey around the area for the next ten days. The attraction between the duo grows as they make the dangerous rounds. However, neither one realizes that she possesses the power to defeat an evil. However Kasey rejects the Native American spiritual system that she needs to guide her to victory and ultimately to love.BLUE RAIN is an entertaining romance that blends several elements from different sub-genres into a wonderful total package. The story line includes intelligently described environmental issues, Native American spiritual beliefs, and a torrid love affair. The good versus evil subplot adds a supernatural suspense to the terrific tale. The lead characters with their suspicions make an endearing couple. The support cast adds depth to the region as well as to the journalistic business. Tess Farraday provides her audience with a complex modern day winner.Harriet Klausner
