Blood of the Axe

By Mark Hardial

Some histories are written. Others are hidden.

When Matthew stumbles on a thousand-year-old message during an anniversary trip to Iceland with his wife, Michelle, he thinks he's made the discovery of a lifetime-and long-held dreams of fame and recognition finally seem to be within his grasp. But as his obsession grows, something more valuable than his dream is threatened: his marriage.

In the 10th century, young Erik the Red receives an object his father claimed was their family legacy. But as violence follows him from Norway to Iceland and beyond, Erik begins to question whether the object is cursed, or if the true curse lies in the choices people make.

As past and present begin to intertwine, it soon becomes clear that everything leads to the same forgotten secret...

Blood of the Axe is the first book in THE INHERITANCE series-a dual-timeline historical mystery where the greatest story is the one that was never told.
