Read this book

It has been years since I read this book, yet I still become emotional when I think about the fate of the protagonist. A man who returns from a starship to find his world a differnt place than the one he left so many years ago. Lewitt's strong depth of characterization gives the reader an excellent feel of the man, his isolation and his eventual solution for his planet. Am I a hopelss romantic? Perhaps... I cried while finishing the last page.
