Bleu de chauffe [French]

By Nan Aurousseau

This work of fiction resembles a true story, which is fair enough since it actually is a true story... or nearly one. It is a first novel by Nan Aurousseau, craftsman, plumber, brick-layer, ironware merchant, script writer and filmmaker. As the great C line used to say: "Twelve crafts, and as many misfortunes."
One day, after he had just regaled his friends with the tales of his adventures in the world of the building trade, Aurousseau, who, at that point, was on dole, decided to write it all down. In his unique style, raw and scathing, the highly skilled worker spares no-one.
Composed according to the rules of the thriller and imbued with a spectacular energy, Bleu de chauffe is unlike any other novel in the French literary landscape.

Born in 1951, the eldest of 6 children, from a father mechanic and engine operator, and a mother laundress in Montmartre, Nan Aurousseau spent his whole childhood in the twentieth district of Paris.
