Black Familia

BLACK FAMILIA: Birth of a Dynasty is the story of Quan Hoyte, a player from Bedford-Stuyvesant: "BED-STUY..DO OR DIE!", as the author describes it. He was the leader and organizer of a racketeering enterprise that expanded across six states, which makes this story even more compelling. Quan is a gangsta, but a gangsta who wants to make a difference in the hood, at the same time expanding into the Big Apple's underworld. Quan establishes an organization called The Commission, with members coming from the boroughs of New York with one of the main objectives providing assistance to the community or the hood while at the same time flooding the hood with cocaine, crack and heroin. Problems rise when the Mafia wants in using Big Lou a former ole school gangster, who was just released from federal prison after 25 years, but Quan has other ideas and he keeps a sharp eye on Big Lou. You know the saying, "keep your friends close and your enemies closer..." If you like street fiction filled with drama, sex and violence, this is it as I was engrossed for most of the afternoon and didn't stop reading until the conclusion of this fast-paced story. I look forward to reading more works by Raheem "Bounty" Hoyte as he left me hanging on the last page, so I KNOW there's a sequel. At least, I hope so. A great story...

Black Familia seems to be just the beginning. With a quick start and unexpected ending, I was totally captivated. True lovers of urban literature will certainly enjoy this book.

Applause for Raheem "Bounty" Hoyte!!! Raheem draws us into a plot full of intrigue, meaningful characters, and vigorous dialogue. His story revolves around the infamous streets of New York City with a plot that thickens. Raheem has composed for us, a top-notch novel that ranks with the best of them all. He has very unique and very well developed characters, lots of great street action, with some incredible twists and turns. Be sure to look out for more, this title is highly recommended! -T. The Truth

"The Black Familia" is a hard hitting faced paced look into the gritty streets of New York through the eyes of Quan, one NY's top street dudes and Brooklyn's number 1 man. Quan is approached by Lou one of Brooklyn's elite after he is released from federal prison. Big Lou or O.G. as the yougins call him, to put it simply Lou wants what the Italians have and that's money, power and respect. The only way to do that is to bring unity between the five boroughs and to squash all beefs. Lou convinces the leaders if each borough to come together and from this "The Black Familia" is born. Raheem "Bounty" Hoytle does a wonderful job of bringing you in and keeping you there. "The Black Familia" is a highly entertaining and captivating story that leaves you LITERALLY wanting more. A gangsta's tale

If you are interested in educated gangster books, then this is the book for you. This book is very powerful and deep. I enjoyed it and I am currently awaiting part 2. (A hint to the author)
