Intellectually and visually stimulating

This book provides a great wealth of knowledge on the black bear and does so in a very relaxed style. The joy experienced in reading this book was only surpassed by the joy in the stunning photography which is present through out. A wonderful work but next to impossible to find.

Black Bear Country

This study of the black bears of Minnesota is well researched and well written. The photography is all color and mostly full page spreads. The photos alone are well worth the cost of the book. Contains photos of Kermode, blue,and cinnamon "phase" black bears. A must for all bear lovers!

Pictures make you feel like you're staring down the critter!

Great pictures, and good insight into the unique hibernation nuances of the black bear. A very captivating book.
