Impressionable book

I've read this book at the age of 17 years. I could never remember all of the books I've read since then. The bittersweet passion has long since stayed in my mind and heart. I especially love the way Claire's strong personality stood out in this book. I could never forget the tension and the excitement when ever the two main characters would see each other's. I think this book personified true romance between a man and a woman. I am a writer now publishing my first book and I can truly say that this book was my most impressionable book. I think subconsciously it has inspired me to become a romance novelist. I believe Lynne Graham is a phenomenal writer.

Early Lynne Graham

Claire was adopted by the Fletcher family, and took care of her miserly, unloving grandfather until his death. She hopes that a small inheritance will allow her to marry the man she loves. When the will is read, however, the entire family is shocked to find that Claire has been left everything, on the condition that she marry one of Fletcher's grandsons. She despises most of the Fletcher family except for Dane, the estranged grandson who is wealthy in his own right. She asks him to marry her temporarily, to satisfy the will. Dane agrees, but after the wedding suspects that he has been set up. This is an early work of Lynne Graham, before her style fully developed. It is not as good as some of her later works (Dane's reasons for turning on Claire are very thin), but those who enjoy her style should like it.
