Biograph Shorts - Griffith Masterworks (1912-1913)
Most of the films, such as “Those Awful Hats,” seem more like practice films. They each tell a brief story but lack the brilliance associated with his epics.
They are worth watching just to be aware of them; however, they do not warrant a second viewing. Since the films speak for themselves, there is no need for DVD extras. Yet, the extras might have highlighted why these short stories are significant.
