Big Country Big Game is a collection of North American hunting stories experienced by Tory Taylor over 60-plus years. Raised in Colorado and as a 55 year resident of Wyoming, Taylor writes about being a big game hunter and a licensed big game outfitter in the American West. The author and his wife of 46 years owned and operated a "Mom and Pop" backcountry horseback outfitting business for over 35 years before retiring. The Taylor's held outfitting permits for the Shoshone National Forest, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and Yellowstone National Park. There is little of the Greater Yellowstone Area where the Taylors have not ridden horses, backcountry camped, hunted, or guided clients. This book is not a "how to" book, but the reader will learn much from Taylor's life as a big game hunter, outfitter, and guide. People say that when Taylor tells a story, you can smell campfire smoke, hear horse bells ringing in the meadow, and hear the gurgling of the nearby glacier-fed creek. Tory Taylor writes about what he knows - hunting, horses, mountain life, and big game outfitting. Both the rookie and the experienced hunter will enjoy reading about Taylor's stories and recollections. The book is well illustrated with photographs and drawings.
