Bible Study Guide: Numbers
A generation counted. A people tested. A promise that refuses to fail.
The book of Numbers is far more than a record of censuses, camps, and wilderness journeys. It is the story of a people learning what it means to live in the presence of a holy God, and of a faithful God who continues to lead even when His people complain, rebel, and lose their way.
This verse-by-verse study follows Israel from Sinai to the plains of Moab, tracing the organisation of the camp, the responsibilities of priests and Levites, the rebellion at Kadesh, the bronze serpent, Balaam's remarkable oracles, the rise of a new generation, and the final preparations for entering the promised land.
Along the way, familiar episodes are placed back into their historical, geographical, literary, and theological setting, revealing how each section contributes to the larger message of the book.
Numbers is ultimately a book about the faithfulness of God in the face of human failure. Judgement is real, unbelief has consequences, and an entire generation dies in the wilderness. Yet the promise remains. By the final chapter, another generation stands ready to inherit what God had pledged from the beginning.
Designed for personal study, group discussion, teaching, and deeper engagement with Scripture, this guide combines the complete biblical text with detailed verse-by-verse explanation, chapter summaries, prayers, study questions, and answer guides.
Journey through the wilderness and discover why Numbers is not a story of aimless wandering, but of a God who faithfully brings His people towards His promised destination.
