An exciting ride along the Carolina Coast!

How anyone can write a book about illegal immigration, murder, martinis and crabcakes, and make it all work - and work well it does - is an incredible feat. Without touching on political perspectives, Don Glander's balanced and well written inaugural title, Beyond Borders, is a spellbinding story of a couple whose good intentions land them in dangerous situations with the Mexican Mafia, all in the midst of a relatively easy life along the southeastern coast of North Carolina. My whole family has read the book and to a person (yeah, you hear this all the time...and this time it's TRUE...) said that they could not put it down. Don's mastery of language, his ability to place the reader in the midst of the story, combine to make Beyond Borders a necessary addition to anyones "Favorite" List. BUY IT AND READ IT!!

Dangerous Turns

'Beyond Borders' is a journey where the lives of immigrants living in debt and fear (mafia), without hope, meet a caring lady whose rescue actions put her and her husband in danger. Glander's vivid writing and good character development puts the reader's emotions in the middle of the dilemia faced by the Good Samaritans. I felt that I had visited with the "cocktail hour pair" and sat in a rocking chair on their porch in coastal Carolina. A fast, exciting read that will provoke your conscious. Great Beach Read

Don Glander weaves a tale of intrique set on the North Carolina coast. He addresses the important issue of illegal immigration without judgement. He allows his characters to represent all points of view. It is gripping to read and leaves the reader with much to think about.
