Couldn't put it down

I sometimes commute to the city by train--a journey that takes more than an hour--and use that time to catch up on my reading. Recently, I started Beyond Blood--my first experience with anything in the "paranormal" genre. The next thing I knew, the train was pulling into the tunnel that comes just before the station. By that time, I was hooked. "Oh, good," I thought. "I have at least ten more minutes of reading." When I next looked up, the train car was empty. I was the last one on the train, and had not been aware of the train stopping. I had not been aware of all the passengers getting off! I quickly grabbed my things and made my exit, just in time. THAT'S how absorbing this book is!

Beyond Blood- hang on!

Carol Pepper has produced a fun and engrossing read. Carol combines her knowledge of the international wealth market with a taste of the supernatural and exotic locations to draw in the reader on a fun ride. She quickly creates a plot that has the reader wondering how it will come together and who's doing what to whom. In the process, she draws characters you care and root for, ones you loath, and others you just aren't sure about (till the end). The novel is a great read with the bonus of her well reseached work on locales, history and the sometimes murky world of international money flows.

The Great Escape!

Buried in serious reading about the financial crisis or the state of the world? Yearning for a taste of adventure, danger and romance in the Caribbean, Europe and beyond? This book delivers on all counts. It's a marvelous fun read to lift the spirits in the darkness of winter. Pepper also provides smart, fascinating insight into the private world of the very rich and their families.

Fun Read!

This book is a page turner. I love to read all kinds of books, and this is good escapist fun. The author keeps the pace moving and the twists and turns coming; all of this in fascinating subcultures around the world with a touch of romance. The characters are also interesting, not your usual types. The juxaposition of the elitist money world with earthy island life,and the interweaving of the psychic/occult levels of experience with them, spices up the story. The author lets us into these worlds, so there's a voyeuristic kick in it. I get what it is to be in the rarified air of the very rich and privileged, or in the clutches of an altered state. I definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting a well plotted, exciting and interesting read. I could easily see this book becoming a really entertaining movie.

It has it all

I have been an avid reader for years. Although I must say I was never into the "special powers" I have grown more into it because sometimes it makes for a good suspenseful mystery and I love a good mystery, a story that keeps me guessing and most of all an ending that proves my theories wrong. This story Beyond Blood has a little bit of everything from the innocent and clueless characters, the good guys, the overly controlling, a little bit of everything that keeps it interesting to the end and for me I did not want it to end. I found myself wanting more. I also enjoy an ending that leaves me imagining exactly what the characters did next. Very well written and I would recommend it to anyone.
