undead and unbelievably funny.

My single favorite scene in this collection of novels is when Betsy is working Macy's in the mall of America and she hears her consort, Eric Sinclair, who she's equally attracted to and repulsed in equal measure because he has this habit of taking liberties. Her recognizing his voice, and saying "Yes Satan," Turning to find him observing her and saying "Oh, Sinclair. I'm sorry, mistook you for someone else," This sums up her and his relationship, since their considered king and queen of the vampires. Sinclair is tortured with a cornucopia of emotions with her as she is with him, especially when he says her name like diabetics describe hot fudge sundaes. Betsy wants a normal life and no vamp politics, Sinclair wants them to take the throne. Its a laugh riot good read that leaves you coming back for more.

Soooo funny! LIGHT READING

This is light reading, not to be taken seriously of course. C'mon, it's about VAMPIRES after all! Betsy has a great sense of black humor and the series is REALLY funny with lots of sarcasm(though the sex might be a bit too much) and I look forward to the next set of books!

Be prepared for a wild ride!

This is actually a compilation of the first four books in Mary Janice Davidson's "Undead" series. I happened to get this through a book club that I belong to and it was cheaper to buy the hardcover compilation than to buy the four paperbacks individually. I was definitely taking a chance by doing this because I had never read any of Davidson's works in the past. I was not disappointed! These four novels had me erupting with laughter from the beginning of the first novel to the very last page. I can't wait until the next installments are released so I can dive right back into Betsy's world. I have always been intrigued by vampire stories and I've been equally taken with romance novels in my day. Top that off with the fact that everyone loves to laugh and you've got a triple threat of storyline and a whole lot of entertainment coming your way! Betsy's sassy, devil-may-care method of dealing with the fact that she's recently been made the queen of the vampire world adds a great deal of color to the cast of serious vampire sidekicks she encounters. Add to the mix a series of sarcastic, eccentric and comical humans and you have a character base that will never leave you bored!
