Blessed

This was a very excellent book. I was so blessed by this book that I recommend it to all my women friend who have some special men in their lives. I don't what else to say other than this was a blessing to me and I had to read it more than once.

A Must Read For All Women Not Matter Your Stage In Life

Beside Every God Man is priceless! Through the eyes of Serita Jakes, the reader explores the different stages of a woman's life while examining the different influences that men have had on their lives and vice versa. This book offers solace as women single, married, divorced or widowed take a reality check about themselves and their interaction with the men in their lives. This book is interactive. It takes the reader on a journey of self-discovery of who we really are as mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives. It emphasis the importance women play in the lives of the men around them whether they are their boss at work or their brother or their husband. This book places God center stage as women consider how their relationship with God affects their ability to have whole, healthy relationships with men. The reader quickly learns that before your relationship with any man can be whole and healthy, your relationship with God must be secure. I suggest this book especially for single women. The pearls of wisdom that you glean from Serita Jakes will give you hope and encouragement as you wait patiently for your God intended mate.

A Mature Perspective

First Lady has done a wonderful job in this book by helping us to discover the root to how we view and relate to men. She truly speaks to the heart of many single women through her candid acknowledgement of the fact that our desires for husbands are real and should not be dismissed by spiritual hogwash. She discusses how single ladies can be content in who they are, but not necessarily satisfied with not being married and validates these feelings. She anihilates the logic that many single women have been taught about needing to be more spiritual as a response to their desires for a mate. I praise God that she stepped up and addressed this issue. However, she discusses the full cycle of relationships from the single woman to the married woman, who must learn to adjust to different seasons that occur in marriage. The end of the chapter questions are excellent follow-ups to drive home the points that she discusses in each chapter. It's like getting the book and the workbook in one package. This book was certainly written by a full grown woman and provided a very weighty perspective on how we should relate to men as Godly women and it is very practical and realistic. A good companion book for this one is "The Power of Femininity" by Michelle McKinney Hammond. Between the two of them, they leave no stones unturned.
