Bernie Davis was a natural entertainer whose songs and stories bring alive those far off days of hard-case captains and bucko mates, legendary clipper ships, dockside floosies, shipwreck and Cape Horn storms that were the Golden Age of square-rigged sailing ships.
Equally at home on concert platform or quayside, in lively bar rooms or belting out a shanty on a windswept deck, he was a regular performer at major nautical and sea-song events throughout the UK and Europe, accompanying himself on melodeon, concertina and guitar.
His repertoire includes a wide variety of traditional sea songs and some original songs which are now being picked up and used by other performers.
This book is a 24 page collection of those songs.
