"The central purpose of this book is to convey the intellectual achievements of Professor Wang Dingding over the last four to five years in his quest for an analytical framework within this field that offers greater simplicity, unity, and falsifiability. The book focuses on an exceptionally challenging theme: the relationship between models and phenomena, and the economic explanations derived from this relationship. In particular, it examines personality/temperament models - which, embedded within the various conventions adhered to by agents, have long captured Professor Wang Dingding's attention and which he believes hold promise for inclusion among the fundamental models of behavioral economics. Returning to common sense and engaging in critical thinking represent, in Professor Wang Dingding's view, the two essential principles of behavioral economics research. Only by adhering to these principles can we constrain excessive rationality, guard against bureaucratization tendencies, better maintain sensitivity to everyday life, and effectively address China's unique problems.
