Before You Remember: A Psychological Thriller

By Grant Mercer

Lila Hart remembers how to control a crisis.

She cannot remember the forty-two days before her car struck a guardrail.

Then Lila discovers a video she recorded before the crash.

"If you are watching this, I failed."

Her husband refuses to explain what happened. Her closest friend is lying. A photograph from February 17 shows five people standing inside an isolated historic house, but six shadows crossing the floor.

Someone has been removed from the picture.

Her name was Evelyn Shaw.

As Lila reconstructs the missing weeks, every clue leads back to her: unexplained cash withdrawals, erased accounts, false travel records, a secret storage unit, and evidence that she helped Evelyn disappear.

Lila is not investigating someone else's cover-up.

She may be uncovering her own.

Now a powerful man is following the same trail, convinced Lila still knows where Evelyn went. If her memory returns, she could expose the truth. She could also lead him directly to the woman she sacrificed everything to protect.

To survive, Lila must outthink the people closest to her and the colder, more calculating version of herself who built the mystery.

Because some memories are not lost.

They are buried for a reason.
