Don't be intimidated by this 'medical' book. Read it & enjoy

At first I was intimidated about reading Bedside Manners, thinking I would not be able to comprehend a 'medical' thriller. To my surprise, I could not put it down. The story line was very easy to follow and yet you couldn't predict what was going to happen next. There was a chemistry (or a connection) from one thrilling event to the next. Each character had its own appeal. "Eddie Ingraham" w/Munchausen's Disease was amazing (you'll have to read BM to find out what that is). I like to read but don't consider myself an avid reader. However, BM was great and I'll recommend it to all my family & friends.

I couldn't put it down...

I have to admit I was intrigued because I knew Dr. Maisel, not as a writer, but on another professional level. I started and didn't want to put it down, although it's an easy one to put down because of the size of the chapters and the font size. It was fascinating, witty and yes, mysterious enough to keep you guessing until the very end. Can't wait for the movie or at least his next book!

author 's debut a hit

A story about a young intern who finds himself unwittingly involved in a plot involving bizarre deaths for his friends, patients, and potentially himself if he doesn't stop an underground fascist organization. Maisel has created a story line that is an uncanny blend of mysterious, intelligent, and sultry. The fervor of this mix is only surpassed by his writing style-- a meeting of Michael Crichton and Danielle Steele that leaves the reader asking is this really his first novel?

Maisel hooks you in quickly.....

Bedside Manners provides an entertaining, quick read. Maisel's casual writing style and numerous brief chapters make it easy to pick up and read whether for an hour or only a few minutes at a time. Once I started reading, I found myself glued to the book. I was hooked. As the plot developed and the characters became more well-defined, I kept thinking that I knew " who did it." As I read on, however, I continually second guessed myself... to the very end. The exaggerated experiences of hospital interns, residents and staff gives good insight into the internal realities of hospital life. Very intriguing subject matter. Could this really happen????????????? As a child of a Holocaust survivor, I felt a personal connection to Danny Raskin and his cause.

great debut for medical thriller

I had a great time reading this book. Though it was 600 pages, the font was large, and I read the whole thing on a plane flight. It is one of those thrillers that have crazy eccentric characters ( both patients and doctors) the plot really moved. It was also very , very funny. At the end I reall hoped for a sequeal with intern danny raskin and maxine chu. Give this a try
