An excellent blend of suspense and psychology

Bertz writes a thoughtful action adventure that covers some frightening yet topical ground. Sexual abuse, adolescent secrets, church hypocrisy, limits of loyalty and surviving extraordinary circumstances are all handled with intelligence and humor. Interesting chararcters and a story that keeps you turning the pages. Bertz explores how we all must face down our past and evolve in the people we would like to become. A fantastic read.
