Bear and friends return in a board book perfect for toddlers

I have been reading the Bear books to my daughter since she was a toddler and we have many books in the series. In "Bear's New Friend", Bear heads out on a summer's day to find his friend Mouse, but hears a mysterious sound. As Bear goes about discovering the source of the sound, he is joined by his other woodland friends - Mouse,Hare, Gopher, Mole, Wren, Raven, and Badger, before they find the source of the sound. As has become the trademark of the Bear series, this is another heartwarming tale about friendship. As usual, the text is written in 'simple' language,and the board book format here is perfect for babies-toddlers. The illustrations are full-color and simply beautiful. I would recommend all the books in the Bear series as they all have a heartwarming message and are wonderful for reading aloud. Bear and friends are such cute characters that little ones can relate to and you will have your child clamoring for more Bear and friends' adventures!

Great book for young readers

We bought this for our 5yr old at a Scholastic book fair (much cheaper) and she loves it. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is cute and flows well. This is a great book for beginning readers who've mastered their basic sight words and are ready for something a little more. The rhyming verse and the visual clues, along with the simple sentence structure all provide great clues for figuring out new words. It also makes the book easy to read out loud.

Love it!

I bought this book for my son a few weeks ago, and all my kids love it just as much as it's 3 predecessors. I admit, I'm the real fanatic in the family when it comes to the Bear Snores On series...I love the rhythm of the text and when the kids join in with the catch phrase that each book has "and the bear snores on", "the bear wants more", or, in this case "who?"...even though, they all know who the new friend is. Fabulous addition to your collection.

WE LOVE BEAR

My wife, kids, and I have been following Bear and Company's exploits for all of his books now. The boys love the pictures, the parents love the rhyme-schemes and alliteration. Thus a fabulous time is had by all. On a peronal note, I'm not as fond of these last few Bear books as I was of the first, They haven't quite captured the magic of the first for me. But that's like comparing Chocolate and Vanilla; no matter which way you cut it, it's all ice cream and a darned sight better than spinach (no offense to you spinach-lovers out there). How many times you read this line? "Do yourself a favor and buy this book for yourselves and your little ones!!!" This time it's true!!!
