Heaven or Hell...which do you choose? The two options we have as we journey through life and enter eternity. This point is illustrated, supported and examined in "Be Not Deceived." If you are a Christian striving for understanding and a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, you will truly love and embrace this book. Unlike other books with religious themes, "Be Not Deceived" is surprisingly easy to read--very enjoyable. The main question throughout "Be Not Deceived" is simple... "Are you truly saved?" Mrkvicka answers with many interesting facets. Supporting his theories, he applies the facts with multiple verses found in the Holy Bible. Reading "Be Not Deceived", will challenge your thinking and your understanding of the scriptures in a way not many books can do. By the end, you will have a crystal clear understanding of God's mercy, love, and desire for us to walk with Him. As a break from the norm, Mrkvicka includes a guide. This list is broken down by topic, with scriptures as reference to resolve these situations in a practical fashion. Finally, in today's mode of uncertainty, the reader will feel assured--containing wisdom and then applying the practical advise given as reference from "Be Not Deceived". Right from the first paragraph, Mrkvicka's writing will capture your undivided attention. Again and again, he presents a wealth of knowledge with a pace that's quick and always fresh with new ideas. No random and unnecessary repetition of subjects. The heart filled passion and absolute conviction of true love for our Lord and Savior is virtually on every page. Need clarity about your relationship with God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? I recommend reading "Be Not Deceived"...an excellent resource book that will change your life forever. Now you can feel assured as you venture through this existing journey in life, and be totally prepared for the Lord's planned eternity.

God's gift of everlasting life.

This book puts forth the most loving, yet uncompromising argument against cheap grace I have ever heard. Equally important, it's written in an easy to understand conversational tone and is consistently reliant on the Bible to make the author's points. Everyone concerned about and/or interested in eternity will enjoy this well thought out and well written book. At the very least, it will cause you to think twice about your salvation. It touched me deeply and I recommend it highly.

Easy to understand

Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for Reader Views (7/07) "Be Not Deceived," by Edward F. Mrkvicka, Jr., warns Christians of errors in their beliefs. While salvation is a gift freely given and one that cannot be snatched away, free will plays a large part. While no one can take away our salvation, we can turn our backs on God through willing disobedience and refuse our salvation. Many denominations have a doctrine of once saved, always saved. This doctrine leaves out obedience. "Did Jesus die on a cross so that we can be forgiven or so that we could sin?" Scripture tells us that Christ hated two things: Nicolatians and the deeds of those who practice it. Revelation 2:15 "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitians, which thing I hate." (Revelation 2:15) "However, this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitians, which thing I also hate." "The Nicolaitan Doctrine believes that the world and the Kingdom could exist together." To have an intimate relationship with God you must personally know him. There are so many aspects of God's personality that we often overlook. We concentrate on God is love and leave out the God is powerful. We try to walk with him as equals and that is not possible. "With men this is impossible" but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26). God is also jealous; he will not share you with another. Whatever you have placed before God is your idol. God is righteous and holy. God is our provider, omnipresent, vengeful, our peace, our judge, our comforter, our shepherd and the ONE who sanctifies us. We refuse to recognize the intricacy of God. "Be Not Deceived," by Edward F. Mrkvicka, is simply written and easy to understand definition of the gift of salvation. The book is divided into six chapters and has a separate conclusion that draws it all together. Mrkvicka aptly explains how faith and works go "hand and hand." "There can be no faith without works." Too many have forgotten or overlooked this part of scripture, "If you love me keep my commandments." (John 14:15) I enjoyed Edward F. Mrkvicka's "Be Not Deceived," and highly recommend it to all Christians.

A Guide To Biblical Understanding

Edward F. Mrkvicka's book, "Be Not Deceived," offers Christians a comprehensive guide to discovering the messages and directives as written in the Bible. Mrkvicka provides a literal understanding of the Bible to help Christians understand the Word of God. The author explains that Christians have drifted away from the messages of the Bible to create a God that fits their lifestyle. The belief "Once- Saved-Always-Saved" is an important topic discussed throughout the book. Mrkvicka explains that abandoning the Word of God to justify current social behaviors will not lead to eternal salvation. Issues frequently discussed include abortion, homosexuality, and adultery. One of the most important points the author makes and discusses is that Eternal salvation is not a right, but a righteous gift. The author explains that we now live in a society where people expect rewards without sacrifice. This view has led many Christians to adopt the false belief that we are automatically saved as long as we believe and, therefore, repentance is not necessary. Obeying the Word of God is a key message throughout the book. The author explains that Christians must go back to the word of God as written in the Bible to achieve eternal salvation and avoid Hell. Mrkvicka provides a Spiritual Guide to the many problems confronting Christians today. The author emphasizes that every problem has a biblical solution. In each category, biblical quotes provide an explanation of God's directive. Through this spiritual guide, the author shows that God gives direction for every problem facing Christians. The book, Be Not Deceived, offers Christians a guide to truly accepting the gift of eternal salvation. As the author points out, many Churches have abandoned the literal teachings of the Bible in an effort to accommodate societies changing beliefs on many social issues. Be Not Deceived gives Christians biblical guidance when tackling the many social and spiritual issues confronting society today. Tracy Roberts, Write Field Services
