a compendium that stands the test of time

My brother has a copy of Basic Building Data so used that it is falling to pieces. I want a copy for myself. It is an invaluable guide for anyone involved in building, remodelling, correct orientation etc, even DIY. If there is any better compendium of such data, I would like to know about it. Most of the material in this book is more than 50 years old, and it would be useful to have an update to take into account new technology and computer aided design. Even so, it is hard to beat the now ancient wisdom contained in this book.

This is an excellent portable reference library.

I had this book in college, while studying architecture. It has all the standard data for loads, dimensions, details for basic construction. A friend borrowed it and decided to keep it ! Wish it is still available so I can buy my second one.
