very helpful

This book is full of good information to help people take care of their backs. It gives the basic information about your back before explaining how to care for it and when to go see a real doctor. The information is consistent with the information given to me in "back school" by the physical therapists training us to take care of our backs. I have given and loaned the book to several friends. In every case, it seems to have helped. It is a good guide to improving the health of your back and finding the proper care when needed.

It saved my back and many others'

We bought the book when my wife had back problems 12 years ago on her doctor's recommendation. We have been doing the exercises prescribed in the book ever since. Many times we have loaned the book to friends who had back problems and the exercises have always been able to help. Excellent book!!!

Exceptional

This is an exceptional tool for back pain sufferers. Very well written in plain english with a great workout and streches in an easily explained format...well worth the investment.

FANTASTIC BOOK!!!

Anyone suffering with back pain will find this book incredibly helpful.

Back in Shape - A Back Owner's Manual

This is an exellent guide for dealing with back pain or back damage. The book clearly explains how the back and spine work (easy to understand)and gives excellent information with respect to what goes wrong and how. Although written by doctors, the book is focused on the fact that most back pain can be overcome by excercise. It discusses other options in detail, and is clear when excercise may not be the right (or only) course of action. I highly recommend the book, I have owned it since published (1991, it is now 2001) and refer to it quite often.
