Libro encantador

This adorable book caught my eye in a bookstore and I couldn't resist. Thank goodness it's a board book, because otherwise I'd have worn it out reading it to my baby nephew time and time again. The illustrations are colorful and charming, the language is TERRIFIC -- I've never seen the English version, but the translator(s) must be exceptionally talented to end up with these fun rhymes and unusual words. Only after reading it several times did I catch on that the rhymes are about each month in a baby's first year! The whole family came to enjoy this book, and it was lovely having a baby book that my husband could read aloud as easily as I could. (Incidentally, go looking for other books from the same publisher / distributor ... you'll be astonished by the quality. I discovered they were the publishers of a number of favorite children's books that I already owned.)Andrea

A best-kept secret among children's books

I echo the previous book reviewer. We bought this book for our daughter when she was 8-months old and it was her absolute favorite. Now she's two and she still loves it. This should be a classic for years to come. Help get the secret out!

WOW

We bought this book when my daughter was one, she sill LOVES it at 2. (minus all the lift the flaps) This story is so appealing, 'rythmatic', very appealing. The illustrations are wonderfully done. A great book for babys everywhere, of every race.

A wonderful book for babies and parents

When I read this book to my 3-moth-old daughter for the first time, she smiles all the time. I think she loves the rhymes and the bright color in the book. Now, whenever I say " baby born...", even without a book, my daughter starts to smile and listen quietly till I finish the whole story. The detailed illustrations and the rhymes make me feel so good every time I read it. I believe this book will always be my daughter's favorite, and mine, too.

A Multicultural Treasure for Children

When I first picked up Baby Born, I had to stop and appreciate the heartwarming cover illustration with babies from every culture, in every mood, with colorful blankets snuggling them. Then, every page continues to celebrate a multicultural world, full of simple, joyful moments throughout the seasons. My 3-year-old daughter wants to read it daily, and loves to pick out different faces that she wants to pretend to be. For parents/teachers who want to bring a multicultural awareness to their children through literature, this book is a gift. Three cheers for Chih-Wei Chang, the illustrator!
