The genius of using the palette of cave dwellers to lampoon modern life

B. C. is a comic strip that expresses a wry, satirical sense of humor. Targeted at the modern world, the palette of expression is that of the culture of the caveman and cave woman. The toughest human is a female and many modern conveniences are expressed in primitive form as in the cartoon series "The Flintstones." My favorite in the book is when the bird is perched on the tortoise shell and the dialog is: Bird: "Boy, you're a tough one to buy for" Tortoise: "How do you figure that?" Bird: "No stores" Genius comes in many forms and Johnny Hart used one of the most original when he lampooned modern life by melding it with the life of "simple" cave dwellers.
