A riviting read for F1 fans of a bygone era and one that offers lot's of insight into an enigmatic c

I received my copy as a gift from my wife and I quickly consumed it as I consistently found it hard to put down. The writing is accessible and the narrative is well organized. Of course for those that know who Senna is, (he may no longer be with us but his spirit lives on in countless racing fans), the story of his rise to F1 supremacy is compelling. This book offers great detail into the people, places and circumstances that shaped Senna's career. I felt myself developing a deeper appreciation for his talents and achievements chapter by chapter. As an amateur racer I found the stories of his early career in less dominant machinery and his legendary mechanical sympathy particularly interesting. For the uninitiated this book will likely have little meaning, but for those of us that vividly remember Portugal 85', Monaco (well just about any year he competed in) and Brazil 93', I highly recommend you spend some time with a copy.

The best Ayrton Sennas's biography

This is the most acurate Ayrton's biography. It depicts facts and details from the beginning of his career that only people who personally knew him (as I have) could account for. This book information depicts the facts and moments of his life with such acuracy that reading it got me emotional tears.

A critical, sympathetic portrait of a complicated champion

With Chris Hilton's characteristic meld of insight and panache, "The Hard Edge of Genius" captures the many aspects of a man born with supreme gifts to bend a car to his will and deftly explores the many conflicting emotions Senna stirred in himself and the millions who followed his extraordinary F1 career. Updated to cover the fateful end at Tamburello, Hilton's work spares neither criticism nor compliment, achieving a balance of the two that mirror's Senna's uncanny ability to hold his machine on the edge of adhesion. Senna himself called it "a book you can rely on." Rare praise from a man who relied on little outside of his own skills.

Wonderful book about the greatest driver of modern F-1!

Mr. Hilton wrote an extraordinary book, going deep inside Senna's personality and exploits, his sheer determination and velocity, whitout being an one-sided writer that only sees Senna's qualitites. Great job about a career interrupted prematurely!

Sheer Genius!!!

Wonderful insight into the career of the misunderstood racing genius. Will leave you in awe of the man's talent and prove once and for all who was the greatest ever!!!!
