Axela is a struggling student at a well-known academy that specializes in helping witches learn about all creatures and magic of various bloodlines, only to be told to stick to her own 'witch' gifts or else there will be consequences. Starting centuries ago between the Witch and Dragon species, it became common knowledge that any one of a mixed blood heritage would be outcasted, if not killed. When men of a certain Dragon Heritage take up temporary residence at her school, she is befriended by a Drakensage pureblood who she learns she is more connected to than she realized. As she struggles with being assigned to help one of them in particular, she soon realizes this man chose her specifically to help him find something very important to his own bloodline for a reason. Little does she know, this item is being used to help save someone a little closer to home. As Axela comes to realize that despite their many unanswered questions and misleading energy towards her, they are only holding back out of trying to keep her safe. Axela's past holds more than she knows about, soon learning the real reason behind her own father's death that even her own mother has kept secret from her, she struggles with following her intuition and trusting the man her heart is starting to lean towards. Only to find out soon enough, he was not the one who had it first. In an attempt to keep her safe, Axela's original bond was forced to be given up, only to now realize that she just may need her heart torn in two places to have the help she needs to find the one person who placed a curse on her a long time ago. And in doing so, may lose the bond that was the right one for her all along already.
