This books explores the Greek, in Athens, tradition as the foundations of the American culture, philosophy, and democracy. In this generalist view, an attempt is made to show the macrocosmic changes from mythos to logos in Athens and from logos to technos in America. The Ages of Athens - Bronze -to-Classical - about 2500 years, lead up to the Age of Homer, the Pre-Socratics, the Philosophers, History as Literature - Hesiod and Herodotus, and the Age of Drama-Tragedy - Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides.One of the observations in this transition in the megatrend from 3000 BCE to 2000 CE is that we have not surpassed nor equaled the Greeks in many cultural areas based on mythos and logos, but our progress has been from logos to technos, in science and technology, which we can now call techno-logos, or techno-science, as technology assumes the dominant role in post modern America.
