The Few. The Proud. The Married. U.S. Marine Zachariah Clark spent his last furlough between the sheets with voluptuous socialite Becky Owens--a steamy week he never wanted to end. So he proposed. They secretly said their "I do's" and Zachariah shipped out on an eighteen-month tour. Stateside again--nursing serious war wounds--Zach begins a tough new mission: getting to know his bride. In the bedroom things are perfect, but outside, Zach has plenty to learn about Becky, a steely divorce attorney who's as fierce a warrior in her own way as he is. The question is: who's giving the orders now?
Yay! I've found another great Blaze book hiding in the pack! Zachariah Clark, a Marine Lt., meets Becky Owens a week before he is deployed with his Special Ops unit and they spend the week together having the best sex of their lives. Not wanting it all to end they end up doing something totally impulsive. They get married. Eighteen months later he's back and the story picks up with him suffering from post traumatic stress and her being targeted by a whacko whose nasty messages are escalating. Her mother is ill and she has not told her blue blood family she'd married a Marine. Not only do they have to deal with all the craziness around them but they have to get to know each other and learn if what they have is more than just sex. In someone else's hands I'm not sure all this would have worked, but Ms. Miller has written a better than usual Blaze that delves into more than just how many positions the couple can get into. Although there's plenty of that too. Zach and Becky felt like a very real couple and it was great to see them learning about each other and growing to love one another outside the bedroom. Ms. Miller obviously did her homework when it comes to Marines and their families. Although, as a mom of a former Marine, it's my understanding that Marines don't deploy for 18 months at a time, but it's a small quibble that I'll let slide as she had everything else right. A great book with one of the best military heroes I've seen in a while. And the Beckster wasn't half bad herself. :)
amazing

There's a reason I'll buy anything and everything Julie Miller writes. At Your Command starts 2008 with a bang. Becky and Zach's story will make you believe in second beginnings. At Your Command turns up the heat while it also manages to touch reader's heart. Ms. Miller creates outstanding characters as always. People I care about. Fantastic.
