I have written this project from a first person perspective. In as much as, having been a sufferer of this condition for a number of years, it is something that I feel I can contribute to both personally and academically. Having paid attention to and read a number of books, on this cause, it is good to be able to bring it all together in this way at last. I do not expect everyone who will read this will agree with everything that I raise here. Schizophrenia is such a deep and complex issue, that merely choosing the chapters which to focus upon, was a task in itself, let alone discussing this and bringing my ideas together for the conclusion. Rather than a traditional essay structure, of literature review, discussion and findings, I have instead chosen to present my dissertation in a more traditional essay layout. Consisting of introduction, chapters focusing on desperate case histories and examples, before bringing this together at the end. I was in some ways forced to adopt this approach to this project, simply given the already mentioned depth and reach of material, this is the structure I felt most comfortable in adopting, in order to face through the subject matter, most effectively . I have used a combination of personal, objective, third person, academic techniques, to assess the question of Schizophrenia. Both from lay, professional, and expert lay perspectives.
