Ascariasis is a sickness resulting from a parasite named Ascaris lumbricoides. Ascaris lumbricoides is a big nematode (roundworm) that infects the human gastrointestinal tract; the adults are visible to the bare eye and can attain over 12 inches in length. Parasites cause ascariasis as they proceed through their life cycle in humans. Threat elements for ascariasis contamination consist of dwelling in and/or visiting tropical and subtropical areas with terrible hygiene and eating or drinking contaminated meals. Signs and symptoms of ascariasis may also consist of the following: Stomach symptoms (soreness, swelling, ache), Nausea, Vomiting, Fever, Coughing, Wheezing, passage of parasites and their eggs within the stools. Health care providers diagnose ascariasis by detecting characteristic Ascaris lumbricoides eggs in feces with a microscope; different checks can also be done (X-rays, ultrasound, for instance). Remedy is an oral medicine for approximately 1-3 days in patients who do not have extra headaches.
