I would like to introduce "The Fruitables." They are a group of eight delightful fruit and vegetable-headed characters created to bring positive messages about nutrition, exercise and various other life skills to children-ages 4 to 8. This book titled, "Are You a Good Listener?", teaches young children the importance of listening to themselves and to their parents and loved ones. Learning how to be a good listener is a valuable life skill and important to healthy development. This book is part of a series. Each book delivers a loving lesson on a variety of topics. These lessons help to build a valuable knowledge base for small children."The Fruitables" came to me one day in 2003 and the books were written about ten years later. I immediately knew that these adorable characters would be attractive to children. As I drew each one, their names, unique personalities, and reason for creation became clear to me. This was a way to bring awareness of self-love, self-respect, respect for others and positive messages into the world.
