The story began in a present-day, early morning, New York City, Manhattan bridal shop, an American named KATE VALENTEEN had absolutely no interest in an arranged marriage by her bossy parents-a marriage to VICTOR STRATH from a well-respected, aristocratic, old-school Downton Abbey-style family led by the ninth earl of Strath, and stuck in a stuffy, post-Edwardian era lifestyle.
So, she searched one bridal shop room after another to escape, then climbed out a bathroom window in an escaped.

And Kate is from a very wealthy business empire, and for months, she repeatedly said to her bossy parents, "I'm not interested.
"I don't love VICTOR STRATH.
"And sure, he's very handsome and ever so charming, has a wonderful personality, attended the elite Ludgrove School in London and Eton College for secondary school, places of power and special privileges, places that groom powerful people.
"And I don't care if he may be the next King of England, I really don't or an elite prince, or the next Edward of Woodstock known to history as the Black Prince, or the next Duke of Cornwall, or Duke of Sussex, or Duke of Gloucester, or Duke of Wellington, or prime minister, or a House of Lord member, and especially not yet another prince from the House of Anjou-Ch teaudun."
And she ran away and is mysteriously found by DAVID KERR thousands of miles away, emaciated on a floating boulder in the Atlantic ocean, and yes, some boulders float, those make by certain volcanic lava.
And afraid of her parents, she lied about DAVID KERR, a hapless, unemployed guy.
Lied that he abused her, and blames him for the entire wedding mess, which is the opposite, a perfect gentleman.
So her lies are a misdirection technique.
And those lies cause more and more damage, and DAVID KERR escapes and is chased around the world in a 7 book series, 5 written and published.
