Love, Death, and Reconciliation

People die at home without home care or hospice nurses, cared for by their family and friends. This is the story of one such death. Kelvin Price's lung cancer has spread. The thing he wants most before he dies is to see the son he walked out on twenty years earlier. Sean Price has waited for a phone call from his father for two decades. He has multiple fantasies about how he would answer the call, all involving revenge scenarios. When the call finally comes, he's surprised to discover that what surfaces is a sense of obligation. Kelvin Price is the only father he will ever have. He must go to him. Chelly Whitaker, Kelvin's landlady and upstairs neighbor, shepherds their reunion. Chelly is a middle-aged woman who never recovered from the death of her husband, eight-month-old daughter, and mother-in-law in a plane crash ten years earlier. They only thing that keeps her sane--if you can call it sanity--is visits from her daughter's ghost. She sees the child not as the infant she was when she died, but as a bright five-year-old. This moving romance combines the paranormal; a search for love despite age differences (she's forty-two; he's thirty-three); and the beauty and relevance of ordinary activities, like making chicken soup for a sick man. It's a wonderful story of ordinary people showing extraordinary love and forgiveness. by Sharon Wildwind for Story Circle Book Reviews reviewing books by, for, and about women

Keep Living

Losing a love one is never easy no matter the circumstances, but life goes on through the hurt and pain. How do you keep living? Do you ever love again? These are the problems Chelly Whitaker faces each morning she rises to see a new day. Sean Price long ago accepted the fact his father would never be a part of his life, as an adult he no longer cares, so envision his shock when he hears, 'This is your father Kelvin Price.' Chelly sets out to help everyone she can by flipping houses, producing community plays, helping the sick and shut in, and having meaningless relationships. Sean on the other hand is trying to cram as much happiness and love into a relationship with a father who is dying. ANOTHER MEMORY has several connecting storylines as the characters learn to trust, forgive, love, and live again. Placing your past in the past, keeping your memories, and enjoying the future one day at a time. A new love, new life, and the ability to move forward A well written story with characters you can believe in which makes readers feel their pain. Showing us we all make mistakes, and we can't believe everything we hear and read without knowing all sides of the story. But, you can create ANOTHER MEMORY. Memories are blessings!

Ms Ridley, your book,"Another Memory" was beautiful, heartwarming, and a surprise! Read it in one day because I wanted to know Chelly and Sean; how it would end? It was a book about past hurts but in getting second chances, Chelly and Sean could forgive, grow and love. The assortment of people in their lives helped their wounded hearts to open and say YES...There were tears, chuckles, and ooohs but like the party for Kelvin, everything fell into place in its own time.New memories could become a balm for the soul... Thanks for a great read and sharing your voice. Looking forward to the next one!!! God bless and have a blessed holiday season.
