This group of stories are all humor, often including the fantastic, impossible, and just plain silly elements.
The text is intended to be visualized, not simply registered. I strongly suggest you imagine how you would play the scene if you were the character.
The paragraphs are spread out to invite you to go slow and imagine each scene long enough to see it in your head along with those background bits you will automatically add to fill out the mental images.
The stories are intended to be played with little miming - and that done mostly by characters to themselves as they envision what needs to be done to get a desired or essential result.
Some scenes don't seem to move the story line along much, but are here since they are fun and fascinating to envision.
