A wonderful history of Egyptian's beleif on magic

This book is a wonderful resourch book on what the Ancient Egyptian practiced as magic. This is a scholarly book, rather than a magickal one. It is clear that the author knows his stuff, and is well written. It gives insight to what the Egyptians beleived, and in most cases, why the beleived in that manner.

Aincient Egyptian Magic

The spells I have found in this book I use on a daily basis, and there are many things that could have happened to me without them. This book shows you everything from what Aincient Egypt was like, to how to become a priest or magician (Sesh Per Ankh). In short I am a very satisfied costomer, and would like to thank Bob Brier for writing such an incredible book!

good introduction to Ancient Egyptian magic

The author, writing in a clear comprehensive style, demonstrates the importance of magic and its practice in this fascinating ancient civilization. It is an excellent introduction for a beginner's journey into the mystic of Ancient Egyptian magic.

Real Egyptian Magic - Not the Pretend NeoPagan Kind

When I read the reviewer who claimed "none of this garbage worked" I had to laugh aloud. Apparently good scholarship on a real religion and its practices has a very limited appeal to the undisciplined masses who like to spin in a circle, rub crystals and try to summon the extraterrestrials to work their "magick" ( these folks seem to spell it with a 'K')If you want a real slice of an African religion and their "magic" then this book is a very good start. Highly recommended by those who have worked past the poorly researched Llewllyn tripe.

If you're looking for a "New Age Spell book," you'd best look elsewhere. If you are interested in an accurate and non-sensationalized accounting of the actual spiritual beliefs of Ancient Egypt, this book is well worth the money. Fascinating.
