My mom introduced me to God over breakfast: eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, and the words of Isaiah. Isaiah was her favorite prophet, maybe because he predicted the Messiah was coming or maybe because Isaiah predicted the gift Christ would bring with Him: God's grace. She was right. I know that for a fact, because I have been anchored by his grace through hundreds of hard times - including an ongoing bout with cancer, the ravages of Hurricane Harvey, and the untimely death of my mother when I was 14 - and successes that few men even dream about - in business to be sure, but more so with relationships that are the foundation of everything I do.I've wrestled with the Angel of Death on so many levels, but those fights have given me the gift of a story.
