Good medieval book for teens and adults

Overall the book is a very good one. I like how the plot is a little different. I love how Rosemarie must choose a young knight to marry - in one month!- or give up marriage altogether. All three knights to choose from are quite different, with pros and cons to each. Like a previous reviewer I felt that the torture portrayed, although true to time period, was a little much. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Lady Rosemarie is under a vow. A vow that states she must become a nun the eve of her eighteenth birthday. The Duke of Rivenshire comes to her palace a month before her birthday and tells her there is one way to get out of this vow. If she marries before midnight of her birthday. With one month to go, she's not sure she can fall in love with anybody. The duke has brought his three most trusted men to try and win her heart. Sir Derrick Harding has no land or fortune and does not consider himself worthy of her so he doesn't even try. But as they spent time together she realizes she likes him above the other two. And now someone is trying to kill the knights. Will Rosemarie get married before she takes her vow? And will the knights survive? I didn't like this book for several reasons. Rosemarie is too pretty for her own good. She's vain about it and expects everyone to love her, and is baffled when Derrick does not. She can't understand how someone wouldn't like her. She could never make up her mind on her own. Her character just fell flat. It also had details of torture that were a little much.
