An Officer's Pledge
The enemy within...
Major John Holt speaks six languages, holds a PhD, and is a lethal Force Recon Marine. But his greatest weapon-and his greatest liability-is his unbreakable moral compass. When a political clash over an ethics class gets him exiled to the frozen steppes of Kazakhstan as a CIA station chief, Holt expects bureaucratic purgatory. Instead, he finds himself at the center of a deadly geopolitical chessboard. From brokering rare-earth deals with the Kazakhs to recovering Russian dirty nuclear weapons, Holt's lethal efficiency earns him the respect of rival spies and the deadly attention of Russia's FSB.
His several languages and close association with a high-ranking Chinese general master spy catapult him into the highest political circles. But when a brazen assassination attempt in Beijing takes the life of the woman he loves, Holt goes on the offensive. Sensing his protagonists possess inside knowledge of his movements while being hunted across Europe, the Middle East, and the high seas, Holt must use every skill he possesses to survive. Because the kill orders aren't just coming from Moscow-they're coming from inside the CIA.
