An Odd Sea

Set in the world of Homer's The Odyssey, stories of adventure, mystical happenings, overcoming enormous contrary odds, and ultimately being reunited with the things one loves.

A flawed hero/king, Odd, has been separated from all he loves for twenty years, during which time he has faced hideous monsters and cruel celestial vengeance.

As well, things at home have gone dreadfully wrong--his wife and kingdom are being threatened by a mob of ignorant, drunken young men. In fact, Odd's clever resourcefulness is challenged repeatedly by dire circumstances at every turn, while time itself proves to be flexible, with much of the action occurring in dream space.

Thankfully, he is aided by several potent forces, including a sympathetic goddess and a talented witch. It is through their wise intervention, as well as his own wily resourcefulness, that he is finally returned to his kingdom where he contrives an unusual peace.
