"High-pitched childish screams explode into the air, unrelenting, shot through with blind terror. A wounded animal - A torture chamber - I know her well-oh, how well I know her I have heard her... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The book was really good for those that have suffered severe child abuse. Some of the language was a little hard to relate to as she was from the UK. If you like Neil Anderson's ideas on healing this book is good. It also illustrates that not just one method is needed. Without all the help she received, secular and not, she would not be as healed as she states she is. Overall well worth the time and most gory details are left out!
A sobering but uplifting read

This well-written book describes Carolyn Bramhall's slow understanding of events that have happened in her past and the way that she had been able to cope with them through multiple personalities. It's an exhausting read in some ways as more and more of her history is unfolded and we learn of the different personalities, "alters", within her who enabled her to keep going until the point in early adulthood where it all becomes too much. Carolyn's recovery is in many ways a testimony to the support of Christian Counsellors and Therapists in the USA and in the UK and it is sobering to reflect how unusual that level of support must be, certainly in the UK from where Carolyn and I both come. Although frightening in some ways, her story is also a demonstration of God's power to deal with anything, no matter how deep-rooted or terrifying.
