Caregiver

I am the caregiver for my husband who has had Alzheimer's Disease for approximately 10 years. I have made it a point to learn as much about this disease as I can. Dr. Dash's comments mirror my feelings, "...Acquiring education regarding the Alzheimer's disease process, learning strategies to deal with problematic behaviors, utilizing the resources in your community, and even successful medical management of the AD patient can help you become a more effective and healthy caregiver." This book will indeed accomplish the goal of "acquiring education." It truly covers the "nuts and bolts" of the disease. Not only is it an excellent book for those who have been in this battle for a long time, but it will even more serve a purpose for those just starting this "long goodbye." It is an excellent addition for the home library and a good reference source. It will also enable you to be a more effective "partner" with the doctor in caring for your loved one.
