In 1994, the macabre discovery of the brutally mutilated corpse of an immigrant worker triggers a disturbing investigation. Eva receives the shocking news that Pablo, a former university classmate, has been accused of the crime. Despite the overwhelming evidence, Eva refuses to believe he is guilty and is determined to prove her friend's innocence.

The shadows of the past loom large with memories dating back to the April Fair of 1984, when the case of the Duke of Idoya and the tragic death of his son ngel turned that festival into a scene of intrigue and suspicion. In this atmosphere of violence and secrets, Eva finds herself once again at a crossroads where every clue she unearths only deepens the mystery.

In Alcaud n, Eva faces a web of enigmas that seems to embrace every corner of the village: an old forgotten asylum, a corporation that dominates every aspect of local life, a saltwater reservoir with no apparent purpose, neighbours eager for the construction of a golf course, and a mayor who, together with an enigmatic psychiatrist, exercises iron-fisted control over the community. Added to this is the appearance of a ghostly figure, determined to silence the truth.
