What a story!

A great story of an ordinary man doing extraordinary things. And I love true stories.

very good read

I found this book a very good read, I did not want to put it down, but read it through the holidays. The chapters are short enough that you can read one and not feel tied down for long periods of time. The author is fairly detailed without getting too graphic. It leaves you with a good feeling.

Agent Bishop

Easy reading. Great stories. Great insights into life of FBI agents as well as balancing family, religion, life, and work.

Juggling Two High Level Responsibilities with Outstanding Skill

This fascinating account of Mike McPheter's career in the FBI is a real "page turner". Once the reader opens this book, it will be very difficult to set it aside. I started the book one morning and grabbed every spare few minutes to continue reading until I finished the entire autobiography in just two days. The author's outstanding writing style keeps the reader involved in the action. What I found most amazing is how Bishop McPheter's was able to juggle two high level responsibilities with his career and serve his calling as a Bishop four times. For those who are not aware, a Bishop in the Church of Latter Day Saints is similar to being a Pastor in other extremely active churches. He is writing a second book with another focus. I'm hoping the new book will be moving toward publication soon.

A Rousing Detailed Life of An FBI Agent and Mormon Bishop!!!!

Agent Bishop: True Stories from an FBI Agent Moonlighting as a Mormon Bishop Mike McPheters tells a rousing story of a lot of his experiences of working as an FBI Agent. With his over thirty years of working for the Bureau, he never ceases to falter from showing all the integrity of a man committed to serving his Country or his f ellow man, esp while moonlighting as a Mormon Bishop four different times. Mike iscalled as bishop in his first area as anagent while on assignment in Florida, where he worked cases involving dissenter and draft dodgers, Car Rings, plane pirates, drug trafficing, even a wedding bust. Mike worked bank robberies, a famous massacre in St. Croix, working on a SWAT team, extortion in the Everglades, the Jimmy Hoffa case, busting Timber Thieves and bears in Oregon, finding D.B. Cooper's money, the Rajaneesh case, being bishop in Pendleton, Oregon, home of the 3rd largest rodeo in the world, working a big Meth case, a kidnapping in Milton-Freewater, Ore., the Bolivian Crisis, working the Northern Utes, a special spiritual experience as the Bishop Barber, a Telemarketing Tragedy, a big Sheep Showdown, sued by the ACLU, the Montana Freemen, the last transfer to Los Angeles and then transition upon retirement. The last chapter tells of Mike's having the opportunity of helping with food relief in the Pentagon during the aftermath of 9/11 just three years after retiring. This was a most interesting book for me to read, as I learned some little known facts about law enforcement and some of the in's and out's.of an agent's life. I highly recommend this excellently crafted book. Forever Friends Rating 5 Stars by Teri Until Next Time, See You Around The Book Nook.
