Not a favorite

I have read other books by Jeffries that I really enjoyed, but this one just didn't move fast enough to keep me engaged. I finally skipped about a hundred pages to get to the end. It seemed that the same issues kept reoccurring without any momentum to the resolution of the problems.

Delightful end to the trilogy

This is the third in the Swanlea Spinsters story. Its been two years since baby sister Juliet was kidnapped and held for ransom by the handsome rouge Morgan Pryce whom she believed she was eloping. Until recently it has been kept secret from society about her abduction, now rumors are going round that she was ruined because of a secret elopment that didn't happen. Juliet's chances at a happy marriage are slim as long as people believe the rumors. She has turned down several suitors being unable to forget the man she loved who betrayed her. When her brother in law Griff hires someone to find Morgan Pryce they find out he was the ward of a wealthy nobleman, Sebastian. When the trio arrives at Sebastian's estate Juliet is shocked to find out Sebastian and Morgan are one and the same. Sebastian quickly explains that he is not her former abductor but his twin brother. The truth is Sebastian posed as his brother and did kidnap Juliet, but only because he believed his brother Morgan was being held by Crouch(the same man who had him kidnap Juliet.) Sebastian knows that nothing bad happened to Juliet during her abduction because he kept her safe and protected her from harm and scandal. He would like to marry Juliet, he never forgot her during the last two years, but will protect his brother Morgan at all costs. Morgan is still missing and Sebastian has made deals to get him safely home. If he admits he was Juliet's kidnapper, he will no longer be able to help Morgan. Even though her brother in law believes Sebastian's story, Juliet knows in her heart that Sebastian was her true kidnapper. She sets a trap to get him to admit it, but he sidesteps all the way. Juliet still loves him but she needs answers, why did he kidnap her and why did he leave her behind. With the help of Rosalind, the two sisters find ways to delay their trip home. Juliet is falling for the rogue all over again, but she will not have a relationship based on lies. Sebastian is terrified of love, but still wants Juliet all the same. Can he trust her with his family secrets and his heart? This book sizzled with sensuality. I like how Sebastian is not one of these worldly, I'm a gift to women type males who keeps mistresses all over. He is practically a monk, but with Juliet everything is different, he wants her for her, not what she can bring his title, or money. He has plenty. Juliet also could care less for his fortune, she wants love and trust and will settle for nothing less. Together they fit like a hand to a glove, its just good characters and a intriguing, but believable story.

Jeffries does it again!

At last fans of Sabrina's series get to sink their teeth into Juliet's story, and it's the best thus far. The youngest of the Shakespearean-named siblings grows teeth and claws and goes gunning for Sebastian Templemore, who masqueraded as his twin brother Morgan and kidnapped her. Sebastian had (what he thought were) good reasons for his actions, but getting him to reveal them, or even that it was him at all, makes for great banter and sexual tension between this pair. If this series has a fault, it's its addictiveness: beware. You'll want to read them all!

Witty, Sexy, Fun!

A CRACKING GOOD READ! I really enjoyed this book! I can't top Desmond Chan's review - it says it all. All I can say is that when I start talking back (out loud!)to the characters and giggling and laughing out loud, and chewing on my finger and curling my toes, that sounds like a great book to me!The sexual chemistry between Sebastian and Juliet was incredible! The dialogue between them is witty, sensual and intelligent. Some of the seduction scenes are very inventive - particularly when Sebastian sets out to make her "heart race and her bones melt" (the first of two scenes involving chess), not to mention when Sebastian teaches Juliet to shoot. But don't get me wrong, there is a story here and a relationship here, not just a series of seduction scenes.Obviously, these two characters have a lot to resolve and it was all resolved satisfactorily in my view. I was a bit wary about the abduction thing, worried that it would be cliched, but that really is background for the action and is not overdone. The real story is about Sebastion finally being honest with Juliet and himself about what he has done and what he really wants. And Juliet is relentless in making him face what he's done and demanding he deal honorably with the consequences of his actions.This is one enjoyable book. It's the first I've read by this author and I wonder if her others are this good.

Jeffries's wits and passion will have your heart abducted!

No less luminous is Sebastian's uncle with his dry and sardonic wits to play an enlightening aide and conspirator in Sebastian's shenanigan. In fact you will already be dazzled by the plot which twists its way through to unravel Sebastian's obligations, brotherly love and how his abduction scheme has made Juliet miserable with the malicious gossip. It is a comedy of errors and love that climaxes with a duel to challenge honor. The passion between the golden couple is a sensual blast crackling with erotic foreplay in a game of chess and a shooting practice. Ulitmately it is Jeffries's wits and beautifully crafted characters that will enchant you most. Sebastian and Juliet are both suppressed characters with a big heart and plenty of love. They make the dynamic duo who drives this rollicking adventure of passion and wits to a stupendous comic riot that will have your heart long abducted before you finish this gorgeous read.

A Delight to Read!

I get a huge kick out of Sabrina's novels! They're always clever with interesting characters and situations, a lot of humor, sparkling dialogue, sultry sex (some of the best stuff out there), and a million unexpected plot twists before you get to the ending. This one had an additional plus: I'd forgotten how pleased SJ had been to announce that she'd tied the end of her "Love" trilogy into the first book of her "Lord" trilogy, and there it was.Speaking of which, a mammoth GOLD STAR for whichever editor finally figured out that all those "Lords" and "Loves" titles were too doggone confusing!I could not put "After the Abduction" down. (Pass the Visine, please!) It's a wiggling-your-toes, giggling-at-each-new-catastrophe kind of story with a wonderful subplot as well. This is one of those "keeper" books you hear about now and then. Buy it.
