Paint Adorable Animals

This 128 page book has full color on each page. Some of the animals you can learn to paint in this book include a fawn, kittens,lamb, bunny, beagle, terrier, long haired cat,as well as a wren bird, butterfly, chicks and rooster. All the projects are explained in full with easy to understand instructions. The author uses acrylic paint and watercolors.This is a great book if you want to get started painting adorable animals.

A Delight to View

"Adorable Animals You Can Paint" is a delight to peruse. The illustrations make it one of the prettiest books I have seen. However, the purpose of this book is to guide the reader through a series of painting steps, using similar elements that Jane Maday uses in her own work. I emphasize that the book is to be used as a guide. Its intention is not to teach the reader to copy. Part of successful drawing and painting is using proper tools. Jane explains the aspects of various types of acrylic and water color paints. She points out the value of the different types of brushes. For example, while a large brush holds a lot of paint to cover large areas, a grass comb brush with bristles that separate at the end is great for painting fur so that you can paint several hairs at one time. She discusses palettes, paper types, other supplies and basic techniques. She shows step by step techniques for several projects. She lists color palettes, brush types, and other supplies needed for each project. It is a great way to practice before beginning your own projects. I have purchased this book twice. The first book was lost in a move. I recently replaced the book since I place such high value upon it as a reference book. I think anyone that enjoys animals and painting will enjoy this book.
