They say it's a bad idea to fall for your best friend. But since when do I say no to bad ideas?
Ben: I've shared a lot with my best friend Adam over the years-crappy apartments, late-night songwriting sessions, backstage nerves. He might be an emotional porcupine, but he's the one who keeps me grounded when the world spins too fast.
So when a tequila-fueled breakdown on stage lands him in the hospital, all I want to do is help. And when he comes out to me after? It doesn't change a thing.
Or does it?
Because suddenly I'm noticing the way his jeans cling when he bends over his guitar. Wondering what it would feel like to touch him-and have him touch me back. But whatever weird awakening I'm having, Adam needs support, not more confusion.
So of course, I go and kiss him. It's reckless. It's perfect. And it's a whole lot of trouble.
I know my label would be livid if they found out I was dating a guy. But I also know that this could be real-if only I could convince Adam of the same thing. Beautiful, broken Adam who looks at the world through 14 layers of irony. Adam, who'd rather get an appendectomy than admit that he needs someone. Adam, who still doesn't know all of my secrets.
But I'm done hiding, and I'm not letting go.
