Acacia modesta wood have been collected from mountain of (Ramora) Dir lower Khyber Pakhtukhwa Pakistan and then converted into activated carbon. The sample was activated chemically. The sample was characterized by BET surface area, scanning electron microscopy, FTIR and energy dispersive spectroscopy techniques.
