He resumes the revision of his Daft resolution on saving Planet Ll ranogge, his own miserable attempts at fiction, and the "ongoing novel" of his life. He recalls that Old Bob (Or) - a local vagrant of distinctly uneven temperament - has apparently expressed the desire to kill him. And he becomes aware of an apparently new inner voice.
