"Valentine's Love" is a story about Laura, a 23-year-old nurse in the deep South, who is married to Todd, a fireman, and is eight months pregnant. Laura's friends and family support her during her pregnancy. Jonyea's health declines and she is taken to the hospital, where it is discovered, she is pregnant and has sexually transmitted diseases. Laura helps Jonyea and learns about the abuse. Esau is arrested. Jonyea decides to have an abortion and move to Atlanta to live with her Aunt Loki. Her mother, Destiny, reacts poorly to the news. Laura, along with her husband and mother, support Jonyea in her decision.
